Paper And Cardboard

Pack4Food is a non-profit organisation founded in 2005 aiming to stimulate innovation in food packaging. It represents a collaboration platform between stakeholders in the whole value chain of the food and packaging industry, on the one hand, and research institutes with broad expertise in food or packaging, on the other hand.
Pack4Food brings together knowledge and innovation, always working from three angles: the food product, the packaging material and the filling process.

Pack4Food initiates and coordinates different research projects on:

  1. biobased and compostable plastics for food packaging,
  2. optimization of packaging in terms of balancing the packaging composition versus the required food shelf-life 
  3. the environmental impact of different food packaging systems throughout the value chain.

These national and international projects are actively supported by the industry as well as by associations representing the food and packaging chain.
