Today, awareness of sustainable packaging and its importance is present in quite a few companies. Many companies are already committed to using more sustainable packaging. However, there are still many misconceptions about what sustainable packaging is. Ecology is not an exact science. The right approach differs from situation to situation.

Bart Calis worked in the industry for years. He is now a researcher and packaging lecturer at the Arteveldehogeschool.
During the webinar “Ecodesign of Packaging: REDUCE” he elaborated on the first R of the “3R” design strategy: reducing material use in packaging design.

Intro and conclusion were given by Filip Vangeel, Manager Circular Economy of Valipac and Annemarie Abbeel, Sustainable Packaging Manager of Fost Plus.
