ReFoil

Recycling of multi-layer waste streams from packaging material. Multi-layer materials are often made up of different polymer types which, when recycled, lead to incompatible blends and inferior properties. In this project, coordinated by the University of Ghent, both closed loop and open loop were examined how multi-layer materials can still be processed into high-quality applications, using compatibilization techniques.
The University of Leuven was also a partner in this project.
